Our Process

The first step in our process is listening to your company’s specific requirements, which allows us to tailor our services to your unique needs.

We feel that clear communication and feedback between your organization and our professional recruiters is vital for ensuring the success of your next hire, and that’s why we always prefer to initiate this process with a face-to-face meeting, rather than just an email or a phone call.

This is very important to us, as it allows us to get as much information as possible about your corporate culture, vision for the future, and work environment.

From there, depending on your needs, we will move forward with the necessary procedures, such as:

  • Assistance with the creation of job descriptions/campaigns/job profiling
  • Candidate sourcing via targeted recruiting, social media campaigns, social media feeds, advertising, and industry referrals
  • In-depth screening, including telephone, video conferencing, and face-to-face candidate interviews
  • Candidate profiling, which involves gathering information about skills, qualifications, motivations, career progressions, salary expectations, and suitability, along with documenting professional employment references for pre-hire review, and verifying skills, qualifications, and certifications
  • Background checks, and criminal record searches on all candidates
  • Drug and alcohol tests, or credit investigations (upon request)
  • Skills assessments, including everything from Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to mechanical engineering and process control systems
  • Assistance with pre-hire negotiations
  • Regular post-hire follow-ups with both clients and new employees

If a candidate is required to take a drug and alcohol test for a position for which they are identified, they will be responsible for the initial cost. Upon receiving successful results, we will reimburse the full cost to the candidate. If a candidate fails the test, no reimbursement will be made.

Contingency or Retainer?

Regardless of what services you require, you can choose to work with Excel Personnel on either a retained or contingency basis.

For both our retainer and contingency services, all resumes are routed through Excel Personnel in order to keep your staff at arm’s length and have all hires go through the same processes.

Retainer Service

Our retainer service offers a continuing partnership between Excel Personnel and your company and is ideal for clients with ongoing or diverse recruitment needs who are willing to work with us on an exclusive basis.

After a consultation to confirm your requirements, our professional recruiters and certified personnel consultants will find the best possible candidates, many of whom are not accessible through traditional forms of advertising.

This will give you access to a deep pool of top-tier candidates whom we’ve identified as ideal matches for your company.

Contingency Service

Our contingency service involves a hirer fee payable after a search has been successfully completed on a contingency basis, as we do not compete with other agencies or our clients.

This option is more suitable for clients who are looking to fill a small number of positions and involves us reviewing the details of your vacancies, and then consulting with people who are already in similar positions, and identifying others who are ready to apply their expertise in a new role.

After a thorough screening process, we will then present you with a short list of outstanding candidates.
