is actively recruiting a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our client's finance team in Kamloops, BC. If you have a strong grasp of payroll principles, experience with Union & Non-Union benefits & payroll and are dedicated to maintaining confidentiality and precision, this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including deductions, taxes, and benefits.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail, minimizing errors in financial records.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaborate within a fast-paced team environment to achieve shared goals.
  • Utilize Sage 50/300 or equivalent software for financial tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication.
  • Comprehend and apply BC Employment Standards as they relate to payroll.
  • Prepare T4's & Records of Employment (ROEs)
  • Benefit and source tax reconciliation
  • Potential to mentor junior finance staff at other locations

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in payroll processing.
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all financial tasks.
  • Effective time management skills, meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Familiarity with Sage 50/300 or equivalent accounting software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of BC Employment Standards, particularly in payroll.
  • Experience with the preparation of T4's & Records of Employment
  • Experience with benefit and source tax reconciliation
  • Experience with Union & Non-Union payroll and benefits

Compensation:
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience $55,000 to $65,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday schedule, 8:30am - 4:30pm with a half-hour lunch break
  • Generous 3 weeks of vacation in your first year
  • Extended Medical and Dental Benefits, Employer-paid Pension Plan, Employer/Employee RRSP Plan
  • 3 months standard probation period to ensure the right fit
